Yes, the details of the diff conversion will be in the book, hopefully there will be a FWD diff in as well for all the old ladies who complain that
there aren't any Sierra bits left.
There should be a supplier that can do the both diff conversions by the time the book comes out for those who don't fancy it, priced at about
£500

I believe Sylva can already provide a conversion kit for a FWD diff - as used in the Riot

Hi,
Don't worry it is for the good cause, I have put a link at the Spanish forum [very small forum] but every one has appreciate the concept.
Some of them did ask if the book will be translated to Spanish Language like the "Ron Champion" book.
At the other hand I can say that my son has started to build the locost. You can find the thread with lots of pictures here:

Chris,
Is it going to be a metro rack? They can be shortened right down.
As for chain diffs, if you use the diff from a ford fiesta /escort (BC box) they come with one driveshaft that is a hollow tube.
If you get another hollow one for the other side they are very easy to shorten and because of the bigger diameter are still very strong once modded.
This was recomended to me by Ian Scott of Megapin (serious hill climb single seater) fame.

Thanks for the comments chaps, I'll try to answer some of the questions.
Release date - We're aiming for Jan/Feb 2010, it might be earlier depending on the IVA and testing program, as you'll appreciate
it's got to be right before we publish.
A Spanish version? Hopefully. I'm still looking for a Spanish publisher for the Roadster book, any suggestions welcome.
The rack is a Fiat item and the Ford diff is one of the ones I'm looking at - this will have to wait untill the protoype is up and running
though.
Weight? I dunno!
The prototype is likely to be a little heavier than following cars, I've used slightly thicker box section, because of the possibility of having
to make modifications and steel wheels because I like the look of them!
Cheers
Chris

That's because there aren't! Any decent Sierras out there now should be kept as such due to them being rare (rare is cool)
Would we be able to fit a fwd engine in? Would be nice to have the choice from a Cinqueceienitio (tinbox) engine upwards

Quick question Chris. As when the Roadster book came out will there be a company offering pre fabricated chassis/ suspension packages etc for those
whose welding/fabricating skills aren't really up to the job?

Not until the book is released, as soon as it is, the web pages will be viewable. Until then it would be unfair to Chris.
