Wheel Bearing Part Numbers

I finally found the list I have for Ford (rwd cars) wheel bearing part numbers from an old Timken catalogue. If it isn't listed below it probably isn't a tapered roller bearing (the only type Timken used to make).

Hope this is useful, but I don't accept any repsonsibility for errors.

Inner and outer refers to the position of the bearings on the hub. The first part of the part number refers to the inner race of the the bearing (technically the cone, or the part with the rollers), the second part refers to the outer race (or cup). Cup references are abbreviated in some instances above. They will always have the same number of digits and prefix as the cone - just add the missing bits.

If you visit the Timken website with these part numbers you'll probably be able to download a drawing or cad file of the bearing so you can cross check the dimensions, or use it in your design.

Kind regards,

Darren

I don't think you can get drawings, but you can get full dimensional data in the "online services" section. Main website is www.timken.com There is tolerance info on there too.

The Cortina has only one rear wheel bearing not an " inner " and "outer", also at least 4 different bearings were used on the various sub types of Cortina axle.

I just quoted the parts directly from the Timken automotive applications catalogue - if I come across one of the earlier catalogues at any time I will check this out.
