Part-worn tyres?

I need a new set of tyres and have been offered a set of part worn A048's
- Im going to have to ring and talk prices, and get a guage of how much there actaully worn. Photos too i guess.

But before i do, how much do you usally pay for part-worn tyres?

Say there've been on for 2months and are basicaly new?
- Else if there about half gone?

These are 205 60 R13's, possably on a set of wheels, or put onto my set.

They are as worth as much as anyone will pay.

You don't know any history about them - there could be internal damage that is not visible. Remember tyres are the only thinkg that stick you to the road - is it worth the risk to save a few pounds?

Although I've used part-worns before, I think there are some really good budget tyres around now for not much more than you will pay for P/Ws.

I've had budgets in the past that were basically a Uniroyal tread pattern but made in Poland so about 40% cheaper!

They gripped well and lasted for ever but if I'm honest they weren't the quietest tyre.

they were 'Stomil' but I don't know whether they are available still.

I hear what your saying.
- Im just wondering what i would pay for them.

The guy seams decent, member of our local club, so i mean i'll ask if they have been abused, but im sure there fine.
- Both my cars, and cars before, have come with (part worn) tyres and ive not replaced them.

At £65odd a corner for 048's or whatever they are thats £260. Which is quite a lot for a student who just bought a second car! There are the R888's which seam to be about the cheapest, but there £50 still.

Cheers, Daniel
