propshaft splines

i am having fun fitting new prop

the shortened one will not slide into gearbox.

i have counted the splines on new and old prop (rubber donut type) both 25.

the spline starts about an inch down the uj end of the new prop but at the end of the old one.

any ideas...

i think they differ then with amount of splines.
turbo.
i remember thinking it was not right for two nights then all of a sudden it went in.
not saying this is the case but give it a go with the thought i just need to find the master spline.

have sorted the problem now...

seems the shaft that slides into the gearbox was oversize by 0.1mm

which was stopping it sliding in.

its gone back to the manufacturer for a replacement..
