FIRE HAZARD?
Just been installing brake pipes. The manifold (Pinto) is very close to the master cylinder and so brake pipes are very close to manifold. Not sure
about SVA regs, firehazard etc, any Pinto builders out there have any knowledge of this?

I noted this as well,saw MK show car last year and a few indy's since and they all run manifold staight out over top rail through side of bonnet.
Have a look at locodudes web site,there are pics of a very nice blue indy at SVA test which shows this  .

Hi Ian,
Actually the main problem might be the heat expanding the fluid and applying the brakes!
My chassis is +4 inches with a 2litre pinto and I didn't have any bother, are you using the servo?, cos you don't need it. Not using it moves the
M/C away from the exhaust.
Failing that try to route the pipes away from the exhaust as much as poss and use a heat sheild, maybe aluminium.

Thanks for the input guys. My engine is as far back as I could get it in order to avoid using a gear extension. I guess a heatshield may be the way to
go. I personally don't think it will be a practical problem, but passing the SVA is another matter!
