MASTER CYL
HI GUYS I HAVE A GIRLING MASTER CYL THAT I INTEND USING IT IS A THREE PORT. THE FIRST PORT AT THE PEDAL END IS FOR THE REAR BRAKES THE TWO PORTS AT
THE CLOSED END ARE FOR THE FRONT BRAKES. BUT ONE OF THESE PORTS HAS A SLIGHTLY LARGER DRILLING THAN THE OTHER. I NEED TO KNOW THE REASON FOR THIS.

As far as I know it's so you have to use different nuts that can't get mixed up.
It used to be 3/8" unf and 7/16" unf. now I'd guess M10x1 and M12x1. Anyone confirm?

I think you will find that the larger hole (the 1 farthest from the pedal) is for the reservoir not for the braking system !

HI GUYS RE MASTER CYL I AM REFERING TO THE DRILLING AT THE BOTTOM OF THE PORT WERE THE HYD FLUID PASSES THROUGH, NOT THE NIPPLE SIZE, OR THREAD SIZE.

Different flow rate? I cant think of any other reason. But they are both for the fronts you say?
Is the hole size much different? I can't see any advantage if the hole is bigger than the brake pipe bore though?
Hmm... strange one!

hi alan the one hole looks to be approx 2mm
the other looke to be about1,5mm and the pipe from this port went to thr off side front caliper on the original donor vehicle which was a mark 4
cortina.and the 2mm port went to the near side caliper. but i still can,t figure the reason for this?????
