wishbones, erw and seam positioning

i have erw tubing for the wishbones, to late to do anything about that now, but i dont think it will matter as long as i position the seam in the right place. however i dont know where the right place is. Should i orient the seam to the top, front of the car, rear of the car or towards the ground?
thanks al

I was hoping an expert would answer this. I used CDS but looking at the British Standards I can't see any difference in strength between ERW & CDS. If you're happy to use ERW I don't think it matters where the seam is.

Unless someone knows better.....

IMHO

The cold working of CDS raises the tensile strength, but when you weld it the heat normalizes it anyway.

I've seen pics of bent wish bones, but never of a split seam.
I wouldn't worry.

My own w/b's are stainless, so the seam is on the underside, but only so it doesn't show when polished.

Working in fabrication for years, i have never seen a seam on erw split. even on things that take a hell of a lot more strain than a set of wishbones on a car. personally i wouldnt worry about it
