brake fluid resevoir and connections

Morning,

Further to a post I made a couple of weeks ago regarding me trying to reduce some of the costs associated with building a Dax, I've now got hold of some M/Cs. I am going to stick with the Dax pedal box for ease.

Now I need a resevoir and and connecting pipes. Are the connecting hoses between the resevoir and the M/Cs anything special? £29 for both from Dax is more than my fuel line cost!

Does anyone have some nice locost options? Pictures of fittings would be greatly appreciated too.

Craig, picture of my set up:-

Get the fittings and hose from places like Merlin Motorsport, Speedflow and Compbrake.

If its broke, fix it. If it aint broke, take it apart and find out how it works!

thanks alot iiyama, thats exactly what I was after.

From the looks of it thats not the Dax supplied resevoir either? Do plastic resevoirs have to have some form of approval for SVA?

The threads for the "fill" end of the cylinders (any of the common motorsporty ones based on girling ones) are 7/16" UNF, so you just need some 7/16" unf hose tails or banjo hose tails and some lengths of hose, though proper brake fluid resistant stuff is arounf £7 a metre.

The resevoirs have to be SVA compliant, basically means that they have a float switch in them. The one I have has two oulets on the bottom, the clutch outlet on the side facing the camera I added in.

You'll need something to prove the hose is brake fluid resistant when you go for test. Merlin (or whoevere) should supply it with the hose.
