Its build yer own shock absorbers mate.
Its possible,but the people i've met who built them from motor bike shocks allways end up buying proper ones in the end  .
Bike shocks dont last that many miles on bikes so there's a limited life.

i was lookin at the mini shocks in work and started lookin at other ones noticed jag ones monroe number 43013 (i think or somethin similar) already
has a lower platform on it. means only a top one has to be made. and is also about the same length of the mini one.

I've got modified Mini ones on the front of my car.
How good are they? - Depends how good you are at making them!
Bear in mind that the "standard" ones aren't adjustable for ride height - you have to insert "c" washers under the spring to raise it.
Mine cost £12 each though.

I was toying with the idea of what i might do for a future project, should i ever get this one finished!
I was thinking of a trike, kinda like, but not too like, a bond bug.
That made me do a bit of research on the net on reliants! (bug had the chassis).
Two interesting things : 1, - probably not wide enougth or too low power - but the reliant has a live rear axle that weighs only 75 lbs.....
2. It seems to have coil overs........
any interest?

Ive got a pair of mini ones on the back of my car, i made threaded sleeves and alloy springseats and top mounts.
I am also building a pair of Gas monotube dampers from scratch to fit on the front. There is a design very similiar to the Nitrons on the file area
of the other list, however it needs a fairly well equiped workshop and is a long term project. i have a pair of Avos on the front at present.

Try http://www.nitron.co.uk they do a complete set for a Locost for less than 200 notes (+vat for UK residents).
