I've just had mine done (got my brother to do it whilst he was replacing the bearings as I don't have the tools to do/undo hub nut
F.Tight!).
You can't just replace the boot, you have to replace the can as well. As far as I know you have to cut the can off, then replace it and peen it
over the grease seal at the non-boot end. Bit if an "entertaining" job.
Boot kits were about 10 quid from Ford, which included a boot, can and grease sachets.

Simple answer - you don't. Best bet is to use a stretchy or split (glue together) boot. Otherwise you have to cut the casing off the joint and
fit a new one with the boot.

I used one of their sticky boots and although I had heard bad opinions and had reservations it's been on my Indy for 6000 miles with no
problems. Done on the car it would be a nightmare to do properly, but with the shaft on the bench and everything clean you canmake a very good
join.
Stretchy ones are probably better though but a little more expensive.

I would also reccomend the stretchy boots, use plenty of lubrication
As as previous post you wont need to cut off the shield,
seems all good
