Sierra front hub overhaul

Hi all whats the best way to go about getting the sierra front uprights to bits does the back plate just pop off?
i dont want to just dive in and brake something

Back plate pops off with a screwdriver then your presented with a MASSIVE nut to undo.

Electrolysis is the way to go to remove the rusty crust

Yes. To get the nut off I applied a lot of heat until the nylon insert melted. You have to replace with a new nut, of course, but you were going to dao that anyway, weren't you ?

if you have a 6ft breaker bar and 2 people you might not have to result to such brutal methods of using a blow torch

They are handed but only after a certain year, I did post relevant info on here but can't remember, but it's in the haynes manual

WOO Hoo came off a treat

Put them in the vice got the 3/4" 4 foot power bar out and off they came
No wd40 no nothing
