brake problem
Ive just realised ive got a bit of a problem with my brakes.
Ive bought some E36 M3 brakes to go on the front of my car and im using E46 hubs. I offered up my old E36 brakes from my donor and they fit the E46
hubs, so i assumed the M3 brakes would fit aswell.
Turns out there off by about 10mm. All the mounting holes line up its just the disc sits about 10mm further back than the carriers so the carriers
dont slot over disc.
Whats the best way to solve this? Space out the disc? Will this give me any other problems later on?

Sounds like it's either 1. Easy tweak or 2. Really hard tweak which'll be loads more trouble than to just buy some E36 hubs and fit
them.
I'd go for option 2 imo

i had some E36 hubs and have had numerous problems in trying to get them to work on the car (no marpherson strut and no easy way of mounting the top
balljoint) hence why i went for E46 hubs.
Plus i havent checked on the ones ive got but i think that M3 hubs will be slightyl different to standard hubs anyway since my smaller E36 brakes fit
my E46 hubs.
One thought was, if its the right thickness, to cut up my old disc from the donor and use that as the spacer? what do we think?

i will try and get a picture tonight,
i bought them off ebay so cant return, and id quite like to get these to work.
if i spaced the carrier it would make it worse.

ebc and brembo have a good online catalogue showing disc offset, would perhaps changing to E46 M3 discs with a smaller offset help?

Space the caliper.
Wilwood provide a solid square billet of ally which you drill to suit your hub, disc, caliper combo.
