Polybushes, rally design / procomp

Been looking at polybushes. Need to have a half inch bore, fairly compliant bush and a 44mm length if I remember the brackets correctly.

Rally design do a set of 8 for 28 quid plaus vat, anyone know if these are the correct dimensions as above and what diameter housing tube one needs?

Also, heard rumours procomp bushes are good, what dimensions and price are these?

Cheers

I've got the procomp bushes - not used in anger but very happy with the service i received. The bush tube ID is 7/16ths tho, not 1/2"

(unless Matt has some others now)

The rally Design ones are 46 mm wide, the bushes are compliant and the centre hole is just over 12.8 so should be able to take the 1/2 inch bolt no problem

Cheers guys, can someone confirm the width of a book locost bracket for me? I assume 46mm as the raldes ones are done specifically as a direct replacement?

The bracket can be made any width you like but it's normally 44mm, this comes from a 2" box section with 1/8" walls which leaves the metric equivalent of 44.5mm which was an easy way of making suspension brackets whithout using cnc folders and the like.

So I've no idea why Rally Design uses 46mm where almost everyone else uses 44mm

44 rang a bell. i bought mine on ebay as "book locost brackets" so I assume theyre 44 as they are 100 miles away just now! Shame the raldes ones are a bit big

Guess Im making up new brackets as mine have a half inch hole and are 44mm so they wont work with the 46mm rldes bushes or the 7/16 procomp bolts.

Anyone got a price for the procomp bushes and a width?

Cheers

What about trimming the rally design ones down? Would be easy enough to do

HI

The PROCOMP bushes that we use in most applications are the genuine superflex items. They also do a wide range of bushes in many other sizes.

The particular items that are being discussed he though are 1 1/2" wide and either a 7/16" or a 1/2" bore. The inner crush tube is stainless. And they come with a sachet of the correct lubricant for fitting them. They need to be fitted to a purpose made outer housing though as there is no std tube size that they just fit in to. Prise of the bush from us is £6 Ea.

Here is a LINK to SUPERFLEX Universal catalogue page.

Cheers Matt
