Wishbones

I need to make a pair of lower wishbones for my Stylus, i want to use rose joints so i can adjust castor and camber, what size tube do i need and what size rose joints and how do i fit the rose joint to the tube? also is there an easy way to adjust the camber without removing the bottom joint?
Is there somewhere i can buy all the bits in one go?

interesting way of adjusting caster and camber, most use the upper wishbone for this! i take it the stylus setup is different to sevens? Anyway, depends what size your bolts are, but most go with m12 rose joints, spaced out in the chassis brackets with a misalignment spacer and a set of other spacers. Cant really advise on tube , but i would say at least 25mm 16swg seamless as they are lower wishbones? depending on whether or not they are load carrying. How do you adjust the camber on yours atm? Again most do this with the top wishbone, and if you get a threaded insert, you can make a wishbone with a smmoth tube instead of a thread, and the insert runs in the tube. The balljoint or rosejoint then threads into that insert, and the insert can be turned instead of unbolting the balljoint or rosejoint (someone got a picture? i think my explaination was rubbish!)

I dont know of anywhere you can by all the bits you need in one go, but again im not a stylus man!

Al

The Stylus has rocker arm suspension, so the top wishbone carries the weight.

Thanks for the advice, the only inserts i can find are weld in ones which are ok for where the wishbone joins the chassis, i think the ones you mentioned have a hex head on one end but i can't seem to find any, any ideas?
Well explained by the way

I found that 1/2" rose joints from McGill with a misalignment spacer either side was an exact fit on the brackets when I upgraded my wishbones.

Just chop the end off the existing bones and weld a threaded bit in.

This means that you have to remove to adjust, but once set up no need to play around with it so its not a hardship.

Mcgill will sell threaded inserts, rose joints and spacers, order today and will be with you by the weekend in my experience

Regards Mark

I had thought about that, but whilst the front tube of the wishbone is 25mm tube the rear is quite flat oval and don't fancy welding a round insert to it or am i being to cautious?, as for camber adjustment, like i said in the earlier post i thought you can get an insert with a hex on one end to slide into the tube and adjust camber from behind negating the need to split the bottom joint, if so where do i get them?

these are the only ones i can find, but they suit the transit drag link which is something like m18 fine or similar... you might have to get them specially made...

Thanks Al
