sierra diff / bolt on flanges questions

couple of questions:

1) what size thread / length do the shaft to stub / diff bolts need to be?

2) can you grind the square bit on the back cover of the diff (that takes the rear mount) off?

3) can you grind the ribs off the diff casing or is it going to weaken it too much?

thanks

1. Don't know.

2. Yes - carefully.

3. I wouldn't - theyre there to stiffen the case and will also aid cooling to some degree.

2. Not worth it unless you're *really* desperate for space.
Ned ended up having to have a new cover for his diff and have the internals professionally cleaned as it was really easy to break through with the grinder.

Cheers,
James
