brake pins

can i get stainless rod and use it for brake pins or are brake pins high tensile im pretty sure there not but i think its best to check,better safe than sorry

I use to use old nails in the past! I don't recommend that though

The pins don't take any braking force, they are only there to stop the pads falling out when the piston is not under pressure. If you maintain the brakes properly though, the pins rusting shouldn't be a problem.
