One step forward and two back.
I had two pairs of 9" brake back plates I reconditioned the best set and binned the others.
Ive binned the wrong ones Ive recone'd Escort mk2 brakes and binned the Capri back plates. The escort ones wont go over the Capri
bearings
Ive now got to do the 8" brakes my new axle came with as I dont want to grind the hole out.
Bloody car was fighting me all day. So near yet so far

If I wasnt off to France tonight I'd offer to machine the holes out - if you cant wait two weeks , is there any one local with a big enough
lathe to do it ?
Edit to add - unless you fancy a drive over to Leicester today ?

Thanks for the very kind offer Claire but the wifes buggerd of with the car.
Must be a nice lathe to have atleast a 5 1/2" swing
Never mind on the plus side it looks like the wheel cylinders and fitting kit will swop over.
cheers again

Claire and I played lathe top trumps at Stoneleigh. Mine has a 9"swing in the gap but Claire won on account that her lathe actually works

I had one with a 12" swing but sold it for a very small one so I could build the car in the garage. Doh

The big one is actually 11 1/2" swing in the gap - I kept the small one for , um , small stuff - and they both work

By the title I thought it was Sunday sing along. Name the song and artist. Unlucky with binning the wrong bit, can you not dig it out the bin?
