Master Cylinder Plunger Travel

Through how much travel should the Sierra m/cyl plunger go? I'm assuming you don't want the plunger hitting the end of the cylinder as it'll cause damage but how much less is acceptable to get fully working brakes?

Thanks,

James

You want all the travel you can get, but hopefully you will never need it. When the brakes are bled you will only get as much travel as you need to take up the space between the brake linings and the discs and drums. Don't limit the pedal in any way or you will not bleed all the air out of your system. The M/C should be designed so you can't push the piston in too far.

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.
