feathered tyre wear
After a recent track day with mostly left hand corners, the RHS rear tyre is worn in a feathered pattern but one I don't understand. The
central rib is worn on the outside and sharp on the inside but the outer tread blocks are worn on the rear and sharp at the front.
I always thought that tread blocks wore on the edge in the direction of travel. I must have been travelling in reverse then.
What does this wear pattern mean?

The tracking out of adjustment causes feathering and I would suggest that the centre section wear is caused by incorrect tyre pressures. During track
use the tyres will wear differently due to the high stress and temperatures

I had it on the front of a 4x4. It was 4 wheel aligned to check and found to be spot on. The dealer put it down to tyre flex and scrubbing due to it
being "an off-roader, not a bloody Subaru!!"
