track rod ends

Would anyone have a mondeo track rod end lying around they could measure for me? or happen to know the measurements

I have a Mk2 escort rack (does anyone know the thread size on this aswell whilst im asking?) and E46 hub.

So im after the taper size, and the thread size of the partwhere it attaches onto the steering rack.

Cheers all

Mikkel

doesnt look like ill be able to find anything that will work with my current set up

The BMW ones are long so if i can modify them somehow then i wont need any extenders, alternatively if i can find some TRE's with the right taper but wrong thread then i can get some custom extenders made up to make it work.

Does anyone know what material TRE's are usually made of? is it cast steell? or Mild steel?

One thought is if i can make an adaptor that is M14x2 interal thread, then cut the old TRE off at the right length then weld the adaptor on it might work, any thoughts?

Thanks

Mikkel

Have you considered the RS2000 TRE's?

These fit the Mk2 escort rack but have a taper that is smaller than the standard escort one.

These guys might be able to advise, as they are UK based and manufacture all sorts.

amsteer

It would be nice if you can use a part that is easily replaced and of top quality.
