GearCalc
Can any body confirm that my calculations are correct (or otherwise) as i understand the R1 gearbox has a final drive of 1.58 and have calculated this
with the 3.92 ratio of the diff and the result is 6.19

First... Welcome to the mad-house!
Second... it all depends on which R1 motor you have as the final drives (and gear ratios?) are different from one to another.
There's a gear calculator here...
http://www.locostbuilders.co.uk/viewthread.php?tid=121319
...but it doesn't have all the R1's listed.,

Thanks for your help
daniel mason
GearCalc seems to be very accurate as it had a top speed of 124 MPH for my 93 R1

Thanks for the link it has the ratios for my engine already entered and confirms the final drive ratio as 1.58
