Engine surgiing, Brake valve and Fault codes 206

Are there any way of reading the fault codes on a Xreg 206.1.1 petrol.
My fault code reder will not work (U480).

Must be a differrent protocall.
can you bridge it out and get flash codes on the dash MIL light?? ( like the vauxhalls)
Also can you put out the service light ( spanner)by any of these methods??

The engine also appears to be surging while you are cruising under a steady throttle. Any ideas?? seems fine idling so no air leaks that I can find and is a bit intermittent from what my daughter says.

Are there any locosters out there with a 206 manual that can check for any specific setup instructions for the rear brake compensator valve.?

If it looks wrong it probably is wrong.

My ELM 327 based reader works on my 1.4 X-Reg 206. Would have thought a 1.1 would too. Is your code reader a full OBD compliant one?
