Sierra
Hi Everyone,
My original plan was to use pretty much everything from my sierra donor, the irs diff mated through the gearbox to the 1.6 pinto. Then I got hold of
an engine I really wanted - a ca18det.
Thanks to turboben I also have an appropriate gearbox for the 200sx engine, but what should I do for the rear end? I'm tempted to use the sierra
item but given the car its from is reasonably high mileage and the power difference between the engines is so huge I'm not sure that the diff
will live too long. As my chassis isn't set up for either at the moment the only difference for me will be the difficulty in designing a rear
end for the 200sx item and the cost of actually getting a 200sx rear section over using something I already have which plenty of plans are available
for. What are your opinions?

What sort of power does the ca18et put out? I'm worried that if the engine does kill the diff then I'll have to change to a 200sx item,
and could have saved myself the time by doing it in the first place.

i think you will be fine with the sierra item mate, the sierra was 3 x heavier to start with..

Sierra diff is fine.
Just look at the amount of high power cars on here with Sierra diff.
Your wheels will spin before you break the diff!!!

A ca18 puts out about 180bhp std and can be tuned to about 250ish which the sierra diff will handle with no problem.
Im going to be running an SR20DET (321 bhp) through mine and the sr engine puts out much more torque than the ca
