Steering column play

I seem to have a lot of play in my steering column, it seems to be around the top of the column where it attaches to the car (MK Indy, Sierra Column).

I notice on the underside of the column mount there seems to be a couple of hole that look like a pinch bolt should be in there, mines doesn't.

Anyway as I've got to get an MOT soon, I think I need to sort out this movement.

Cheers

Scott

I had a similar problem and changed the plastic / rubber ford bush through the bulk head to a proper bearing as per the advice received on here. Solid as a rock now and very easy to do.

Thanks for the reply, I think I'll make that changes, never did like the plastic 'bearing' that FORD uses. The play seems to be more at the top of the column (at the steering wheel).

Regards

Scott
