Bad day at the office
So in the process of fitting my new driveshafts, I have managed to use the wrong torque setting and snap some of the Lobro joint bolts. (I know -
numpty!)
Question - anyone know anywhere in herts where I can get hold of a few M8x50 cap head high tensile screws tomorrow?

In an emergency cromwell do packs of 100 for £17.81 if you have one nearby.

Not cheap, a specialist fastener place should be able to sort you out for less.

Looks doable - one in Bedford and one in Luton!
Thanks for the lead!

Asset tools in Hitchin do loads of different bolts and fixings. They are on wilbury way i think.

Kindest Regards,

250 lb ft? takes quite a bit to shear off a 12.9 M8

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

Based on recent experience - I would not recommend a setting of much over 54Nm and definitely not using 70Nm

..one other thing to ask you - are you using any thread lock / the ford twin washer things ?
only asking as a few people have had them come loose

most definitely.
I am using to ford locking washers (semi circle - takes two bolts) and a thread lock fluid too.
This will not stop me checking them regularly though as I do not fancy the aftermath of them coming loose either...
