Long shank rod ends

Does anyone know where I can get hold of a 1/2" UNF MALE RH thread rod end with a longer than normal shank/thread.

linky

Dimension A needs to be roughly 3.25" they are normally just under 2.5"

Cheers

Jim

I want to swap the rear upright top bush on my Fury for a rose joint. I could possibly use a female joint and some UNF studding but that seems a bodge. The other alternative is to remanufacture/modify the top wishbone which seems a lot of hassle and not something I want to start on 3 weeks before we go on tour.

hmmmm......

I'm currently thinking along the "If it's not broken, don't fix it" line. Done 5000miles like it is. A thread should be in a min of 1 1/2 times it's diameter and it's further in than that... just!

I'm thinking of maybe adding a second lock nut and short tube between the nuts just to stiffen it up where the exposed thread is.

That sounds sensible. I may copy. I just wanted it fully adjustable for when it goes in for laser alignment/cornerweighting. But I am running out of time.

I had a similar issue on my race car and had a spacer machined.

There are some extended shank rod ends available.

They are 1/2 unf shank with a 3/8 bore available RH and LH. Not Mcgill cheap but they are proper quality.

Contact me if interested

Nick

Unfortunately the retaining/pivot bolt is 1/2" UNF so 3/8" is a non goer.

Thanks though
