Tyres
I realise this is a bit like asking what's the best flavour packet of crisps but....
what are some good all round tyres?
At present I've got some rather old (8 year old) Yoko a539s on which are probably a bit past their best in terms of age (though still quite a
bit of tread left).
So what to fit next? I don't envisage doing mega miles in the rain but driving the Seven in the rain is scary enough with aquaplanning etc
without having "dry" tyres on it.....
Options please breathren

a021s are good but they're pretty wet specific aren't they? I suppose I just don't want just-about-legal racing tyres which will see
me spinning off the first time we get a spot of rain...

Indeed it was, thanks for the heads up. Food for thought!
Has anyone tried getting a Kwikfit type place to fit tyres bought from somewhere else??? I want them done properly as I've had some shockingly
fitted tyres done in the past with balancing that was completely out from some indepndent places whereas at least Kwikshit are a known entity....
don't think E-tyres sell AO21s

Most places I tried around here (Urmston, Flixton, Davyhulme, Sale and Stretford - Manchester) wouldn't fit tyres supplied by someone else, but
National did and I'm sure some of the independents would.

I just had some Camskill bought R888s fitted at our local Fast Fit place, charged about £10 per wheel including balancing

I bought some of the new Toyo R1-R tyres a short while ago, to replace some A539s that were on the car.
They had been on for three years with little signs of wear
So far the R1-Rs have been superb with levels of grip that the A539s were never near.
I need to get on a track to see what they are like at the limit
Recomended.
