Back end rebuild continues

The car has been off the road for a couple of weeks while I have been rebuilding the back end and fitting the tranx diff I built up. Took the opportunity to repaint the suspension and have a general clean up as well.

Replaced all the steel spacers with aluminium too. Just because...

Hubs fitted with new bearings and caliper brackets from andyw7de

And the calipers and discs test fitted. Required some minor mods to the caliper brackets to clear the caliper again.

Just have to refit all the brake lines and check the wheels fit over it all now! Fun fun

Looking good!

What combination of drive shafts and ends did you use?

Looks like a lobro on the diff.

They are push in shafts. The lobros ends were just in there to keep the muck out!

ah - good move!

I see the issue with the driveshafts fitting in the hubs now. Mine were much shallower.

I love how much time you have to play with the car!

Reminds me of life before kids

Well its all back together again and been for a drive.

Not really any noticable difference in the brakes, as good as they were before, but no better I dont think. That said they wont have bedded in yet...

The LSD has made a difference when pushing hard around the corners, feels much more planted at the back end.

Prefer the look of the discs on the back though, and the set up is considerably lighter than drums were....

And yes the handbrake is rubbish now, will see how it settles down once the pads are bedded in though.

Looking good there.

I was wondering what finish you have on your wheels ? I really like the look of the look of them. Did you do them yourself ? I'm going to have a go at refurbing my donor wheels !!

thanks
Paul
