Quaife input shaft swap

Hey,

i have got a quaife straight cut type 9 box sitting on my floor and i need to chage the input (layshaft ((i think))) from the long V6 type to the short pinto one. It currently has the longer shaft fit and i have the shorter one sitting here but am i able to change it without stripping the box down???

Can anyone advise me on how to switch it over???

cheers in advance

You will have to strip the box
An alternative is to use the Caterham gear box spacer that goes between the box and the bell housing.
This will move the engine 35mm forward.
