Removing slide in driveshafts etc etc
Chaps,
At some point in the future I'm going to replace the Sierra diff with a BMW one (ratio issue).
Now, the (my) Sierra driveshafts are push fit into diff and have that dirty great nut on the outside of wheel. If one pretends the diff isn't
there, and I undo that great big nut, do the shafts remove from hubs inwards (ie towards missing diff).
Reason I ask is BMW diff has bolt on shafts, and shafts have sliding joints. Theory is to have hybrid shafts made (Sierra outer, BMW inner) which can
be fitted with diff in situ.
Hope that's clear
Ta v much

Yes, once the hub has been removed from the end of the shaft. (and assuming I understood your question)

My understanding is the nut comes off, and the shaft can be slid out (towards diff).
Trying to avoid removing hubs

You have to remove the bit that holds the wheel in place. The part holding the wheel bearing can be left bolted in place.

I was talking to a man in the know who agreed that adapters could be made to use all sierra shafts to bm diff

One nut goes the other way... Imagine putting long bar on the nut and drive backwards to visualise the undo direction

Yes passenger side is wrong way round, if you have kept them on the same side as sierra.
(Also I thing if the nyloc thingy is White it's a wrong way one, if it's green then it's proper way. )
