Sierra tie rod dimensions

Does anyone know the length of a sierra tie rod, and the size of the tread as well? Ideally I need a rod 250mm long with an M14 thread.

Cheers

Matthew, The Sidem PDF catalogue lists the Sierra tie rod at 270mm. BTW thats a nice looking inboard front suspension set up in your archive, it looks close to what I`d like to be heading toward. ( see the Inboard front suspension thread down the page a bit). Cheers, Steve.

Is that 270mm from end to end?

Whats the lenght of the tie rods on a MkII Escort rack?

Anyone know if they'll fit a MkII Escort rack?

Cheers

I had an escort rack and a sierra rack here at the same time. The ends are definitely different and cannot be swapped. The Escort rack end has a male thread on it and forms part of the joint. The sierra has a female thread, and the joint is part of the track rod. In the end, I gave away my escort rack because I couldn't see an easy way of shortening it without lots of machining. The sierra rack was as easy as chopping the end off and drilling and tapping a new hole.

Cheers

Cheers.

Ok then, I need a good idea how to extend my MkII Escort rack. At the mo I can only get about 10mm of the tread into the ball joint

Which won't fill me full of confidence when I'm flogging it!

Cheers
