Drag Links and TRE

There seems to be a bit of confusion on the haynes forum over Transit Drag links and TRE.
Does anyone have the definitive answer..

Transit Drag Link:
Apparantly some have a longer thread giving the required turns on the nut using book mushrooms.
Others state their drag links have a thread that's to short requiring machining of the mushrooms to get enough thread.
Does anyone have a low down on which are the long ones??

Track Rod Ends:
For Sierra uprights, are RS2000 ones the same as escort ones. whats the difference with the sierra ones. Some people have said the tapers are different and escort ones don't fit the sierra upright. Did the upright design change or is there a difference between diesel and petrol uprights, something needs to explain why some builders have issues and others don't.

With regard to track rods

MK 2 RS2000 (and. all RS Escort) track rod ends are not the same as normal MK2 Escort ones because all RS Escort models used strut parts originally from the Corsair range

Normal Escort MK2 track rod ends are exactly the same part as fitted to Cortina Mk3 to Mk5, and also MK1 & MK2 Fiesta and Mk1 & Mk2 Granada.
The tapers & threads on Escort MK2 are the same as the normal Sierra models.

All MK1 & MK3 Escorts used parts that are not compatible because they used imperial (UNF) threads and tapers.
MK1 RS models used a different imperial sized track rod end which is again not compatible.

some of what your on about just comes down to differant manufactures.

I have some that where ordered on the same part number and have differant lengths of thread and some imperial and some metric.
