Diff and drive shafts

Well after a sh*t day finishing stripping the sierra, it has gone from bad to worse. I stripped the back end (diff drive shafts) only to find out that the diff is actually a 7.5" diff and wont fit my avon chassis. I'm not prepared to alter the chassis as it is powder coated.

What are my options, can I buy a 7" diff and still use the drive shafts from the 7.5" diff or are they different lengths?

sorry don't know about the shaft lengths - but I have got a spare set from granda with 7" diff (bolt-on type and they are missing 2 of the CV's)

I have spare 7" drive shafts, I'll bring them across and see if they fit.

Yes the last of the Twink sierras where fitted with a 7 1/2" diff in both Lobro and push in.

Ive measured them as being the same width so if the splines are the same they should work.

As in splines do you mean on the push in shaft? I have the bolt on type.

in that case don't worry about the splines - measure the outside diamiter of the CV joint instead

as long as they are the smaller size on the diff you've got now then they are the same as the 7" ones (most 7.5" diffs have the same size as the 7" )

i'll check the size of mine later on to compare them
