cortina front uprights?
I have cortina front uprights with transit drag link ends ,maxi balljoints and escort 2 track rod ends . All seem to fit the upright except the track
rod ends .Do i need to drill the hole in the uprights bigger and does it have to be tapered ? If so how would i drill a tapered hole ? Is it normal
for the other parts to fit without modification ?

Don't want to be cheeky, but make sure you are putting them in the right side, should be coming up from the bottom.
HTH
BTW, yes it is tapered.

Sounds likeyou are perhaps trying to fit them the wrong way round to me.. as those parts fit the cortina uprights with no mods.
My Daughter has taken over production of the damn fine Triton race seats and her contact email is emmatrs@live.co.uk.

They're not RS2000 track rod ends are they? From what I remember British Trident saying, these are Imperial and not compatible.

I second James's comment.
You do not have to modify Cortina upright tapers. The track rod ends you need are from an ordinary mark 2 Escort. Your track rod ends may be for an
Escort RS2000 especially if they came from Rally design.

Thanks everyone . Nice easy solution as well ! I d just put the track rod end in the upright pushing it downwards instead of pushing it upwards !!
