Conclusion on 300mm discs
To night I have just put this little lot together.
Basically I modified a coupe turbo 305mm disc by cutting the centre off and tac-welded it on the other way. This is just a mock up! This disc I
beleave is almost the same as a 406 v6 now in dimensions..... I have bolted it on the back of a cortina hub and fitted the Brembo four pot. This all
seems to fit inside the pug 307 steel wheel - radius wise. Now the wheel catches the calliper only very slightly on the edge but this is probabily
wouldn't with a bigger offset wheel, like a ford at ET35?? The mating face of the hub to wheel is not touching by about 5-10 mm. And remember
this is a steel wheel of only about 165mm wide.... Alloy wheel would be wider, and hence a bit more clearance....?
Any way, just wanted to post my findings. I have struggled to determine if the 300ish disc will fit under a 15" wheel for a while now.

i had a fiat coupe for a while it was a pain in the ass to find a nice set of wheels for it that cleared the brembos in fiat offset. from my
experience, the brembo calipers were nothing but trouble, they used to sequel and the fact that the leading pistons were a different size to the
trailing ones meant they had a tendency to warp discs when hammering them. finally the biggest problem was that they weighed a tonne. i think it was
around 25kg for 2 discs and the calipers.
i would recommend that you take the stainless pad guide shims off and check underneath for corrosion, if you find any dig it all out and repaint it
if its not too bad. if it is deep you will need to get then welded up and re machined which makes them a bin job.
Anything With Tits or Wheels Will cost you MONEY!!
