Catalytic Converter on Busa
Chaps,
I've got busa in my MK, and just before the carbon exhaust can, there is a bulb type Cat converter.
Does this a) effect performance and b) effect the note of the exhaust?
It's just that apart from the induction noise, it doesn't sound very loud - or racey, and def not like a bike? My mate has an MK with a
zx12 and it sound mega.

Many people have commented on how noisy their intake is on BEC engines and in particular Hayabusa engined ones. Bear in mind that the bore and stroke
of a Hayabusa is larger than most other Bike engined cars and it is the suck that causes the noise.
People are now being black flagged at Track days for drive by noise tests entirely due to intake noise not exhaust, Quite often cars will pass the
static noise level because the throttle opening is minimal to produce the required RPM check. This however changes when you are having wide open
throttle conditions.
I have a Megabusa which came with the conventional Pipercross type filter and I was quick to change to a proper airbox. I now have no induction
noise, more power and a pressurised airbox.

If it can't be fixed with a hammer then its probably an electrical problem.
