plate diff qwery

i fitted a 3.6 7" lsd from a gp midget racecar, its almost no slip and is like driving a welded diff ,i stripped it down and it is full of plates like a bike clutch,would i be ok to remove some to limit the locking or would i be better with a standard one? i cant fit my spare diffs because the lobros dont fit thanks... also i need a 3.1 diff if anyone can help

You probably have a diff set up with very big ramp angles, you can't just remove plates.
It will need setting up for your particular use.
