Wheels and offset-GBS ZERO
Ive bought a nice set of 2nd aftermarket wheels that were on a Focus, the offset on the back just about has clearance but not so on the fronts. In the
wheel i found various markeings, the obvious being ET35. My question is what spacers should I use and what is the safe rule of thumb when using them
regarding threads on wheelnuts etc?

As they are designed for a wheel offset of ET15. you would need 24mm hubcentric spacers this ones in the link would do.

The Zero runs ET15 offset, so ideally you need 20mm spacers (20+15=35). Having said that you'll probably find 15mm ones or even narrower ones
are OK.
You only really need spacers at all if the tyres foul the bodywork. So before you buy any, mount the wheels and see if that happens. If it does, just
measure by how much you need to push the wheels out to prevent this.
If you do go for spacers, get the hubcentric type which locate on the hub exactly. More expensive than the slotted or open-framework universal ones,
but folk have had mixed fortunes with them - some say they're OK, others say they're useless.
Anything other than a very thin spacer will mean you'll need longer wheel studs. A 63mm stud gives you an extra 25mm of thread over the standard
Ford stud length. You can go for shorter ones if you don't need that much extra. MTec do a good range. You'll need 12x1.5mm Ford studs
with a 13.1mm spline diameter.

The Zero I believe runs Sierra hubs which use ET38 wheels.
Zero designed around ET15 wheels, rears ok, fronts ok except for wing stays = modify wing stays.

You think that's bad? Have a look at the rear wheel spacers on one of the ridiculous MR2 Ferrari "replicas", they are about 6
inches wide.
