Extended Studs to Sierra Disked Rear?

Hi Guys,

More advice needed please.

Is it possible to fit extra long studs to the rear hubs of a disk-braked Sierra without taking the thing apart?
Doesn't seem to be much room for manoevre behind the hub?
Anyone done it?

Thanks!

Martin

Nope, you need to take the hub off the axle with the 4 bolts holding it on, then they should come out. IIRC the studs will come out without removing the hub nut.

Knock the old ones out with it all still mounted, otherwise you wont be able to get them out of the hub. A couple of clouts with a club hammer normally has them free.

Hi again,

Can someone remind me how to remove the rear hubs. I built this thing up years ago!

1)Remove caliper and disc.
2)I have a lock tool to lock the hub.
3)Undo the hub nut and pull hub off.

Is that it? Do I need a puller for the hub? Is one of the hub nuts a reverse thread?

Ta!
