wheel speed sensor
Any Ideas for mounting wheel speed sensor on sierra upright. This is for the dash 2 sensor. Pictures would be great.

I mounted mine on the diff, reading off the prop. Could you put yours there?

I have got the space, so I should be able to. Just initially though I would like it to read the actually speed of the non driven wheel.
You got a picture of your contraption franky?

I've not got a pic, just welded a bar to the top of the diff so the hall sensor was looking at the bolts where the prop bolts to the flange.

If you put it on the front hub you may have problems with iva as they check speedo on the rollers.

I've got one of mine if it helps - aluminium bracket secured to rails using rivnuts, speed sensor in the centre, magnet mounted on the prop
using some of that stuff a bit like blu-tac but sets like metal.

That looks like a good way of doing it. I had a problem where the diff moves though as its on bush's and it would drop out so I guess how the
diff is mounted alters things too!
ETA I see you're using a magnet, i'm using a hall effect so have to look at bolt heads.

I would be using hall effect sensor as well. so would have to be bolts. Thankd for the image I would use the same idea to mount the sensor

True, My diff is fixed. You would have to mount the bracket to the diff itself, I suppose - or maybe at the front of the prop, but there's no
bolt-heads at that end....

I'm on cortina uprights, mine in one of the holes in the front lines up with the stud heads on the hub

When I took the SVA the rollers for the speedo test were non-powered, so they couldn't measure the speed of the front wheels (except at
0mph).
The brake testing hardware is different (driven) so I don't know why they have to have two sets of rollers.
If you have a front wheel sensor then they can find ways of testing, but they can also be difficult about it.
