Ahem - Nipple problems
If you can get over your disappointment
Can't get new bleed nipples for my Sierra caliper, local motor factors (normally very good) gave me the one's (left) in the picture, old
ones shown on right.
They wont even go in the hole the old ones came out of. Does anyone know the 'official' part number so I can try ordering that.

They should be M10 thread. The thread on the right looks strangely knarled, as if it may be the wrong thread for the caliper, but was wound in
anyway.

Yup agree wiff above.
You could stick a tap down the thread. Loads M10 ford nipps on the Bay. I would go for the stainlees ones advertised.

I wonder if someone's squeezed a 3/8 one in there...? Get the vernier caliper on it - imperial nipples have an imperial AF size as a rule,
metric a metric.

Now I've got three.
Ordered some M10s off ebay, they don't fit either
So that's M10 on left, the motor factor 'Sierra' ones in the middle and the ones off the car on the right.
Now what I'm thinking is, I don't have Sierra calipers (I didn't build the car)
Poor picture, sorry

Those are Sierra front hubs and look very much like Sierra calipers. Certainly don't look like anything earlier that wouldn't have M10
bleed nipples.
The old nipple looks like someone has cross threaded a nipple in the caliper and daMAGED THE FIRST COUPLE OF CALIPER THREADS AND THEN EITHER (oops,
cap lock) got the old nipple or a new one started on the right thread . Thats then damaged both the nipple and probably the caliper threads. Result is
that the new good nipple won't start as the tread profile doesn't match the damage thread. You could try re-tapping the hole to clean up
the tread but be carefull as it'll strip easily afterwards, or otherwise it's a new caliper.

I might still have these crusty ones somewhere (they are the larger ones for 260mm discs) but I'm guessing you need it quicker than that
(they'd probably need stripped down and rebuilt...)

I have some 240mm Sierra calipers if that is any help. I'm located near Mulbarton. They came off the TVR when I fitted 260mm discs and calipers
so were working fine.
Drop me a PM if you're interested.

Nipple problems are no more.
Car now happily tucked up in bed wearing the calipers I bought from Jed, cleaned up really nice by the way Jed.
Once the old ones were off the car we finally managed to get the stuck nipple out, they definitely look like the wrong ones for the caliper but as you
can line things up a bit easier off the car we did manage to get the M10s I bought into the old calipers, so I've now got a spare set.
Thanks for all the help guys.
