Stainless Braided Brake Hose

I was wondering about the front brake flexi-pipe needed from the body over the wishbone to the caliper...
Can you use braided stainless from the master cylinder, through the body, over the front wishbone bush, cable ties, then onto the front brake caliper all in one run?

You can, but it's a very expensive way of doing things, and the flexi pipe will expand more under pressure than solid Kunifer pipe would.

I'm not sure if the DIY aeroquip fittings are IVA friendly either.

I've been warned if you are using M16 calipers where the flexi enters the caliper from top it may fail IVA, as the motion of steering the car may loosen the flexi entering the caliper.

So you will need a small piece of fixed pipe from the flexi to the caliper, see photo below.

If you are using Wilwood calipers you will be fine as the entry into the caliper is in a different location.

I maybe wrong but I guess I'll soon be told!

Cheers,

Hmmm .. got all the copper pipes made up - getting ready to fit..
Is there a 'standard flexi pipe' that everyone 'usualy fits' between caliper n body?

cheeers all

Think you've just spent 50 odd £ for nothing by the time you've added the cost of fittings it seems a lot more expensive than russbost on here, with the SVA self assembled braided hoses were frowned on due to the fact they could be undone, normally they are assembled and crimped, one of the few parts on bikes/kitcars etc were your life could depend on a properly done jobs is brakes, so I would recommend you get them made up by someone with the experience to do them properly. and yes it is very simple to tell self assembled from made ones, so you'll never fool the IVA guy or gal
