handbrake help

hi

i'm just about to start work sorting out the handbrake and need some help. the cables are fitted to the rear (sierra rear caliper/disc set up) and run to where the handbrake will be located. i've got 2 cable and no way of connecting them to the handbrake (there is a round eye to fasten too) what part am i missing.

Sounds like you are missing the horseshoe thing as can be seen in the attched.

A bit of DIY bending and clevis pins - couple more pics in my archive under 'Handbrake'.
Cables secured using a blob of weld - didn't work too well - parted as I arrived for my IVA test...DOH!
Mark II securing was using the inner brass bit from standard electrical 'choc-block' connector.

For attaching cable I have found this u-bolts to be very good for the job.

e-bay for:
Wire rope grip U-bolt clamp

Cheap and work well (you can get them in loads of places, such as local hardware).
