Car weight/Weight distribution

I've got a Sylva Leader and managed to borrow the weighbridge at work for a bit. I found the following sites explaining how to roughly calculate weight distribution (seems reasonably sound logic to me). Anyway, these were my results (It hada full tank so was slightly heavier this time).

Weighed with a full tank of petrol:

Car Only: 630kg (not bad for a car built in the mid-80's and I'd bet the fibreglass body takes up a fair wack of that - it's almost 10mm in places).
Car + Me: 710kg (I weigh almost dead on 80kg, so this seems correct).

Car weight of just front axle:
Me In: 360kg
Me out 1st: 340kg
Me out 2nd: 330kg (I just used 335kg for the sums as it was somewhere in between).

Weight Distribution with me in: 51/49 (360/710 = 0.507042253521)
Weight Distribution without me: 53/47 (335/630 = 0.531746031746)

Quite interesting Almost a perfect 50/50 weight distribution with a driver. Good ol' Jeremy Phillips ay!

Anyone else managed to calculate their weight distribution and/or overall weight?

Yup. My weight distribution is 40/60 front/rear again designed by good old Jeremy and abused by me! Overall weight is 632kg car only. I'm hoping to pare 20kg off this but every time I save one kilo another pops up

As a mid engined car the weight distribution was intended to be this rather than the 50/50 target adopted by many sports cars.

Cheers!

You'd be surprised how quickly the sales people at B&Q try and assist you after ignoring you for the past 15 minutes when you try and start a chainsaw

Were you able to get a side to side distribution - maybe parking side onto the weigh bridge?

Not exactly corner weighting, but might give you a useful indication of how your weight affects left/right balance and whether there's any improvement to be had - e.g. moving heavy things around in the car like the battery.

Ah, good suggestion - completely forgot about that, will get right onto it! Cheers

And what is it you've got? Riot or Mojo? I don't know what the bodywork is like on it but if it's built half as well as the Leader then you could probably halve the weight! :p
