Koni coilovers - which model suits locost?
Newbie question from Vancouver area - just acquired mostly finished frame, have toyota 4age drivetrain in pieces on the shelf. Question today is
appropriate koni coilovers. We have an opp'ty to buy model 80-2216 shocks with variety of springs- $500 for 4 -new in the box. This
isn't the model that koni prescribes for the lotus 7; was wondering if anyone can offer an opinion. tx.

A quick search on Google suggests that they may be designed for a Jaguar - which might mean that they aren't ideal.
Why not buy the right ones for the job? in the long run you will appreciate buying the right ones even if it costs a bit more money.
welcome to the forum by the way

In particular they just telescopic dampers with no spring platforms, so really not that useful.

The Champion book refers to using metalastic bushes on the shock absorbers; these shock absorbers come with a variety of springs.
