Had exactly the same problem I was using a hydraulic switch I have since mounted an electric switch to the pedal and all is good now. It did take some
setting up though

I think there are 2 different presures available but can't swear to that. Is the switch mounted from above or below the T piece? If above it can
trap air in it and not be as sensitive as it should. Either reposition the T piece or you can fill the switch first and then smear a bit of rubber
grease (often supplied in brake cylinder repair kits) across the end to stop the fluid draining out, then screw it in... quick. The first option is
preferable but not always posible without re-piping or re-locating the T piece.

Had the same problem with my car recently, Got a switch from Euro Car Parts for a VW Type 2 from around 1973 which seems to operate at a lower
pressure. I will probably fit a mechanical switch to the pedal at some stage

Redundant Brake Switch
Upon desassembly of the original Pedal Box (Mustang 1995) I found the Brake Switch to be Big and Overengineered.
I am planning on changing it to a Omron Mechanical Limit Switch, that way, as long as the pedal moves from its detent, light cones on...
I don´t have to comply wit IVA, SVA or else though...
