zetec to mt75 clutch

Hi Guy's

I know this has been gone over many times before but i'm
not having a lot of luck trawling through old threads.

I am fitting a 2.0 zetec to an mt 75 box, using the 2.0 flywheel and clutch.
My question is this, is it ok to use the standard release bearing with this
set up?

Thanks in advance,

Andy

Yes and no

There are two ways of doing the bearing, it needs to be 20mm nearer the clutch cover.

A is a 20mm spacer on the bearing like westfield (£80 )

B space the pivot out 20mm cost is a nut and bolt, this is the Gbs way

Superb Warren.

When you say use a nut and bolt,i take it i will need to remove
the existing pivot and replace it with a longer bolt??

ive been looking for some pics but how its done is ....

..................................................................
Drift out old pivot with hammer and punch.

Tap hole to M12 ( check this as its from memory)

take one m12 hex bolt and grind the head to a mushroom shape that replicates the old pivot.

Wind bolt in from inside the bell housing.

Lock of on the out side with a nyloc.

Result is one adjustable pivot point.

But as a starting point it wants to be 20mm longer than standard so measure it before you drift the old pivot out.

I went with the westi bearing as it was a bargain on ebay. A westi owner going 6spd quaife t9. but that was many years ago
