Tyres for the winter

Hi all
I'm Hoping to have my kit completed just in time for the winter wet stuff
And don't want it to sit in the garage till the roads dry out
Any suggestions on Tyres to fit 13x7's for the winter
I want to start sprint racing next year and have been looking at r888 but they don't look to clever in the wet

Any suggestion

Thanks Graham

if you want to start sprinting and you want to get tyres you can use in those events then you need to check what you are allowed to use in the class you want to run in.

I can't give enough praise to the toyo R1R. Same grip as a r888 but with a wet weather silica and useable tread pattern.

Thanks for the fast reply as always
I will check the rules for sprinting but will probably get r888 for the summer anyway
And store the wets somewhere

Of those the Yoko a539 is used by quite a few.

Be careful with them though as many aren't suitable for a light car. A friend put some tyres (can't remember what brand)with plenty of tread on for our Alps trip this year. Following him down the Col de Bonnet in the (torrential) rain, his car was all over the road while my Toyo888 shod car was fine.

After just buying a new set of wheels I don't want to pay the same again or more for Tyres quite yet

I have A021s on my car in 185\60\13 and they have been very good in all conditions. However they now need replacing and am probably going to get them in 70 profile as they are available cheaply as they are a control tyre for oval racing .
Polley motor sport had them for about £50 each.

Definitely Polley are the best. They fit for free and are nice, you just need to check their website to find when they will be coming to a track near you. http://www.polleymotorsport.co.uk/polley/events_calendar.asp

Mine were from Polley (but 14inch, I paid more than £50)
