Hand brake photo

Ive been trying to figure out where to mount my hand brake, and I am kind of stuck between the passenger side of the tranny tunnel, under my elbow, or to the right of the shifter. I was just looking for some inspiration, and have been looking for photos for a little while here today, until I got frustrated and gave up.

If you can keep you head, whilst all others around you are losing theirs, you are not fully aware of the situation

Here's a photo of mine.
It's a long way back which explains the elaborate 'push' system.

Since the photo, I have lowered the handbrake because the pivot point was wrong and it took a lot of effort to apply the handbrake.

Bob,

Is that a Metro handbrake?

It looks a lot (nicely) lower than a Sierra one.

Cheers,

James

Just trimmed the front mount down and rewelded it. Got it angled so it sits along side my arm when Im holding the gear stick. The gear stick will disapear once I get electric shift. The horribile plastic cover has been taken off and an ali one made this is WIP at the mo. The hand brake on the side is good idea. Macspeedy has a cushion on the tunnel that the hand brake disappears into. That works as well. Original had the handbrake under the dash with a sleeved cable and a multiplyer lever. In some pick ups they have a plunger type hb that could be used for a locost. Derf has access to pickups stateside so perhaps this may be another avenue
