torquing up rear hub nut

one of my rear wheels seems to be binding and im not sure if ive over tightened one of the rear hub nuts. how tight do they need to be? as ive only got a 1/2" drive socket set.and could i have damaged the bearings if over-tightened?
car has only ever been pushed to and from trailer and never driven. cheers

250nm very tight, you usually need a very long bar to do it, the bearings can be a bit tight until 'run in'
